Card sets
The different cards that make up the game were released over time in themed expansions.
Welcome
Every new player account automatically starts with a full set of 2 copies for each card from this set.
Meteorite or Shadow quality copies of this set can be bought from the Store Store.
Introduced after Genesis, Core and Trial of the Gods in order to improve the new player experience.
Core
The Core Set Refresh in March 2022 added 70 new cards and rebalanced a lot of the existing Core cards.
Genesis
The first set ever printed. Packs were available to buy even before the game was playable yet.
These cards will always be playable in Standard format and not rotate out, which is similar to Core and Welcome set cards. But unlike those sets which can be rebalanced, Genesis cards can never be changed directly.
Went through very heavy redesign periods in the first year.

Balancing periods: Cards can no longer be balanced after rebalancing period ended.
Set rotations: Unlike Core, Welcome and Genesis cards from this set onwards will eventually rotate out of the Standard format and will only be playable in some yet unannounced Legacy format.
A champions for each domain, which are very strong Legendary creatures.
Death: Strong Nether synergies, particularly via the new Zombie creatures.

Etherbots
These cards could be minted only by owners of the Etherbots NFT project, a very early experiment by the development team.
In Febrarury 2023 new copies of these cards were minted because original owners of Etherbots NFTs (not cards) were now able to claim any remaining copies not originally claimed in 2018.
In March 2023 these cards were rebalanced and will be locked.

Mythic
Only a single copy exists of each Mythic card.
Every few months a new Mythic gets raffled among players in a particular way.
